Match report
Despite the fact that the ground was in just about as bad a condition as it possibly could be, some good football was seen in the match at Clarence Park on Saturday. The Guards paid St Albans City their second visit in search of Spartan League points, but had to submit to a severe trouncing from a cleverer eleven.
Except for an unaccountable weakness in front of goal the City – who, owing to Watford being without a match, had the valued assistance of “Tiny” Fayers, to make room for whom the good natured Squires generously stood down – were at the top of their form.
