Match report

"The Citizens Lose At Last"

On Saturday night many people in St Albans were surprised, not to say shocked, to hear that the City, previously unbeaten in this season’s League tournaments, had gone down badly at Rickmansworth and they asked for explanations, which were not easily forthcoming. All there is to be said in the Saints defence is that they had to play on the worst football pitch it has been their lot to perform upon and that the whole team, with perhaps one exception, were completely off form, added to which Rickmansworth were at their best and they won on their merits.
Both teams were fully represented.
