Match report
In glorious weather these clubs met at Clarence Park, St Albans, on Saturday before a good attendance. The homesters had the advantage of the sun and a cross wind at their backs in the first half, but the visitors more than held their own in the opening stages.
Packman scored for Aylesbury within fifteen minutes, the City defence being quite out-manoeuvred. Within a quarter of an hour Knott equalised and shortly before half time Hammond cleverly into the net a pass from Price.
The second half produced many passages of bright play, the City forwards exhibiting considerable initiative in their attacks. A desperate struggle occurred in the Aylesbury goal-mouth about ten minutes before the finish, during which Breed hurt his knee and had to retire.
