Match report
In journeying to Cambridge on Saturday and pirating two more points from the United, St Albans City once more enhanced their splendid record in the Spartan League. Although a somewhat bumpy surface occasionally prevented the ball from rising truly, the County Ground at Cambridge was in first-rate condition and consequently the game was one of the fastest the Saints have taken part in during the season.
In a very even encounter the scene of action ranged from end to end with extraordinary quickness. The visitors, however, were undoubtedly the more scientific eleven and two characteristic goals from Edmonds – one with a clever dribble round both backs and the other with a vicious “first-timer” - supplemented by one from Harry Cook gave them victory.
