There was no weak spot in the whole of the St Albans City team on Saturday and their play, consequently, was sound and effective but, contested against the Polytechnic at Clarence Park, they failed to break down a strong defence and a goalless draw was the result. From the start to the finish St Albans were the stronger eleven and, after the interval, their eagerness to score forced them to attack the visitors stronghold with persistent vigour and but for the sturdiness of the defenders, the goal must have been penetrated.
