Born in St.Albans, Rob made his first appearance for the Saints in August 1983, and between then and 1990, with brief spells with Hayes and Harrow Borough, made 219 first team appearances for the club. He scored on his home debut and went to find the back of the net 73 times, which included one hat trick. At the time he left the Saints he was the 10th highest goal scorer in the clubs history. Rob won the St Albans City Player of the Year trophy for the 1986/7 season and in that season also collected a Herts Charity Cup winners medal. He also appeared in three losing finals of various cup competitions; Herts Charity Cup 1988, Herts Senior Cup 1990 and the Isthmian League Cup 1990, the latter being his final appearance for the club. Away from Clarence Park he gained representative honours with both Hertfordshire F.A. and Middlesex F.A.
Rob now lives in Ascot with his wife Lorraine and 2 children, Ellen and Freya. He is Managing Director of a software and consulting company. Rob continued to play football for British Airways and Staines Veterans until he was in his 40s, and still looks back on his playing days with St. Albans with great pride and happy memories.
Best wishes to the St.Albans supporters and players past and present.
