In their opening league fixture of the season, St Albans City on Saturday gained a creditable win over Leavesden on the Asylum Ground by the only goal of the match. The game was a tight one but, considering, all the points, went to the best team. The Saints were without Hosier, Knott and Davis but excellent substitutes were found in Richardson, C,Sharpe and Anderson.
