St Albans City received a visit from Berkhamsted Sunnyside on Saturday. Four County League points were at stake and the game was a keen one throughout. The City could not claim much superiority over their less formidable opponents, who played a surprisingly good game and were certainly as strong an eleven as any the City have met in the County League this season. Knott was unable to turn out for the City owing to business and his place was taken by E.Wisby, the reserves’ centre-forward.

Sadly, George Richard Goodege, the Sunnyside left-half, was to become a casualty of the Great War when he was killed in action at Ctesiphon, Mesopotamia on 22nd November 1915. |
