A very poor game resulted from the second meeting of St Albans City and Newportonians on Saturday. The heavy state of the ground spoilt all attempts at good play added to which the City, after the brilliance of the previous week, were off form while the visitors, as on the previous occasion, could only put nine men in the field and consequently were entirely outplayed after the first half-hour. Of the City team, Hosier and Butcher were absent from the right wing and Cecil Sharpe preferring to stand down. Hughes had W.Richardson and E.Wisby of the Reserves on his right.
