In the first round of the Herts Senior Cup, St Albans City were drawn at home to Apsley and the game took place at Clarence Park on Saturday before a fair crowd of spectators. From every point of view the play was disappointing, the very “scratch” eleven which the City were forced to put in the field, owing to the rule of the competition that all players must have a qualification within five miles radius, giving a surprisingly poor display.
