Another Spartan League victory was accomplished by St Albans City at Clarence Park on Saturday, the Newportonians being the defeated team by three goals to nil. As on the occasion of their two previous visits, the Newportonians failed to turn out a complete team, the forward line consisting of only four players. A week’s rest seemed to have had a very desirable effect on the home team, but although they played up to their old form, the forward line was unable to keep together and proved very weak in front of goal. Meagher, of the reserves, proved a useful addition to the team.
