Saturday last was the date fixed for the semi-final round of the Herts Senior Cup and, in consequence, the St Albans City eleven made a journey to Hitchin to decide the question as to who should compete in the final. As events happened, this settlement did not come about, for the match resolved itself into a draw and a replay will be necessary. The game throughout was a very even one, the City being minus several of their usual players. Smith, however, resumed in goal, while forward the Saints included Roy Morrison, a former member of the team, who this season has assisted St Saviour’s and Catford Southend. Hitchin were also somewhat below full strength. A strong wind, increasing to almost a gale, blew diagonally across the highly-situated ground and this, together with the bumpy state of the ground, made the ball very difficult to control. Before a crowd of very scanty proportions.
