Match report
Two Spartan League games at Clarence Park constituted St Albans City’s Easter programme, the first of these being the return fixture with the 3rd Grenadier Guards on Saturday.
Although a little too warm from a player’s point of view, the weather was excellent and the game was watched by a considerable crowd. With E.F.Grimsdell touring on the Continent with Ilford, the City took the opportunity to re-introduce into their eleven H.Davis, who was home for Easter.
In weather more suitable for cricket than football, neither eleven over-exerted itself, but certainly the City’s lapses were more frequent than the Guards, who were unlucky to lose.
