“RUNAWAY VICTORY FOR THE SAINTS”The City were compelled to make three changes compared with he team that did duty on Saturday. Grimsdell, Hammond and Knott were unable to get away from business and their places were filled – and filled with distinct credit – by Wiggs, Cook and Brightman. The last named is a Watford player. Seldom have St Albans smashed up the opposition in an important encounter as easily as they did on this occasion. Chesham were hopelessly broken at the end of fifteen minutes play, when the City scored their first goal. Thereafter it was simply a question of “how many.” The Chesham halves were quite bewildered by the clever passing and thrustfulness of the City forward line. Walker and Edmonds were at their best and had a large share in the victory.
