As was the case last year, the City were drawn at home against Waltham in the semi-final of the Hertfordshire Charity Cup and a peculiar game resulted. The City have never been able to do quite the right thing when opposed but this eleven and there is therefore little to surprise one in the fact that they failed to beat them on Saturday, after obtaining throughout the second half the mastery in everything but goals. After the deduction of expenses from the “gate”, the sum of £5 11s. remained to be forwarded to the Herts F.A Charity Fund. With the City minus Palmer(injured), the teams lined up before a thousand spectators.
