Very dreary conditions prevailed throughout the match. A dismal cold rain fell from start to finish and the ground, affected by the downpour, gave the players poor foothold. Seabrook being an absentee, Hosier made his first appearance this season for the City and Walker took up his old duties of skipper. St Albans City won on their merit a game which would have been a very pleasant one under normal conditions; as it was, everyone was pleased when the referee’s whistle moved the closure.
