On their pitch at the West Ham Memorial Grounds on Saturday, the 1st Grenadier Guards destroyed the City’s record as the only unbeaten team in the Spartan League. Winning by two clear goals, they were full value for their victory, overplaying the St Albans team by their weight and dash and giving their opponents few opportunities to produce the more skilful football they were undoubtedly capable of playing. The following were the elevens lined up on a ground that is exceptionally large and practically devoid of grass.
