By winning their match with the Newportonians at Clarence Park on Thursday by 4 goals to nil, St Albans City further improved their position in the Spartan League. The game was a fairly interesting one and the homesters were by every goal they scored so much superior to their opponents. The City had a fairly representative team in the field, C.Wiggs appearing at outside-left and J.Hillier at right-half. The latter especially gave a good display. Although the homesters scored three goals in the first half and only one in the second, the latter was much more interesting, both teams improving as the game drew to it’s close. The scorers were Michell, Paul and Edmonds in the first half and Hillier in the second.
