Spartan League points were the objective of the match at Clarence Park on Saturday, when Watford Orient were the visitors. The conditions were ideal, except that the bright sun hampered the players somewhat and the crowd which gathered round the ropes enjoyed a game in which, although the home team were always masters of the situation, nevertheless produced some very interesting football. Watford Orient had a representative team, but the City were not at full strength, nevertheless, they had some very capable substitutes on the field. A welcome face in the Watford ranks was that of Cavannah, who will be remembered as the scorer of the goal for the City which defeated Barnet & Alston in an exciting match on the Park several seasons ago.
