Ever since Good Friday the St Albans City team has given the greatest satisfaction to their supporters. During the holidays they were at home to three clubs and on each occasion registered a victory scoring in all seven goals whilst only allowing one to get into their own net. On Saturday they received a visit from Chesham for a match in the Spartan League and again were winners by a good margin. There was a large crowd of spectators present who expected their favourites to come out on top once more and they were not disappointed. When the City last met Chesham on the latter’s ground they overwhelmed the home team to the tune of six goals to one. Therefore, it was to be expected that they would repeat their victory despite the fact that Chesham had improved in their play since that time. But if Chesham had improved so had the City and the comparison, as proved on Saturday, remained at about the same level. The sun was shining brilliantly when the teams lined up.
