Joined The Saints at the start of the 1973/74 season following spells at Manchester United, Bolton Wanderers, Luton Town, Leyton Orient and Romoford. Went on to make 23 appearances before suffering an injury which finished his playing career.

Went onto manage Dunstable Town, where he signed George Best, Bedford Town, Maidstone United, Southend United, Barnet, Birmingham City and Peterborough United.

His son, Adam, had a spell at The Saints in 2011.
