Peter Wales
Full-back who joined St Albans City, under Sid Prosser, for the start of the 1976-77 season. Signed for City from Finchley having started his career with 18 months at Arsenal.
His Arsenal career was ended by injury, and in his 40th match for the Saints, a 3-1 Herts Senior Cup defeat at Cheshunt on 19th February, he suffered a knee injury that curtailed his days at Clarence Park.
City were in Division One of the Isthmian League during Peter’s time at the club but less than a week after his debut Prosser resigned as manager and was replaced by John Clarke.
Peter’s knee injury ruled him out for the rest of the season but he attempted to regain fitness with a second stint at Finchley. Also had spells with Harrow Borough, Wembley, Edgware Town and BROBS Barnet.
His son, Steve, signed for the City in March 2014.
