Harold Miller
Played as an amateur for St Albans City before turning professional, at age 20, for Charlton Athletic in November 1922. After 20 appearances and 11 goals he was transferred to Chelsea in June 1923 for a fee of £1,500. He retired in 1939 having made 365 appearances and scoring 44 goals.
He made his City debut on 9th April 1921 and made 14 appearances, scoring 4 goals, his last appearance came on 22nd November 1922 in the famous 7-8 F.A.Cup defeat to Dulwich Hamlet.
He won one International Cap for the full England team whilst with Chelsea in a 3-1 win in Sweden on 24th May 1924. This being the close season tour for which Wilfred Minter was chosen but, unfortunately, he declined citing business commitments. Thereby the opportunity for a St Albans City player winning a Full International Cap was lost.
